[Oh... Ooops? DERP! DERP!] Well, you have three options once you arrive to Johto. You can be a trainer, a breeder or a member of a crime organization, Team Rocket. Obviously Johto just does this with some random system, so anyone can be anything.
So, back on my first time here, I had the worst luck and I was a Rocket. No fun, nope. Not that I did anything, I actually just ran away from them as soon as possible. They changed some of their rules later to find out who's loyal to them or something... And weeeeeell, then the police caught me because they gave some names to the police. Johto's prison isn't a nice place.
